Seeing the corn fields ripening for harvest reminds me of Jesus'
admonition to all His disciples to lift up our heads and look upon
the harvest field of souls that are white unto harvest. It is imperative
to gather the harvest when it is ripe or the crop may be lost.
There are many that are hungry to hear the gospel, but many times
the enemy wants to believe that no one is listening. Jesus
said the problem was not enough to harvest but rather that their
were not enough labors to gather the harvest. May we be the
answer to Jesus' plea to "Pray to the Lord of the harvest
that He would send laborers into His harvest. Prayer is the
key to changing our hearts and the hearts of the people we are
trying to reach. When Isaiah encountered the Lord in his
vision, He saw the Lord first, then he saw himself as God saw him,
and finally he saw the people, who had need. When God had
cleansed Isaiah's sin and asked for volunteers, Isaiah's response
was, "Here I am send me." I believe that if we
humble ourselves, pray and seek His face and turn from our
wicked ways that we will not only see a harvest of souls but a
spiritual transformation of our communities.
